The Dignity Story

The Dignity® Story

Staying Home a Little Longer

For Greg Johnson, co-inventor of the Dignity® AllDay 400 Wheelchair, watching the daily trials of his 74-year-old father attempt to maintain his health and his 73-year-old wheelchair-bound mother struggle to maintain her dignity as they dealt with the dangers and difficulties of toilet transfers was formative.

There had to be a better way – a simple way for his mother to go to the bathroom by herself. Free his father from a chore he could soon no longer physically handle, and to restore a much-needed sense of dignity and independence for all those confronted with the reality of a wheelchair as part of their daily existence.

In a small but important way, at least in this specific, intimate daily need, those in wheelchairs could demonstrably be on their own again.
